In-Ground Trampolines
Bring the fun home with an in-ground trampoline that’s perfect for active families.
In-ground trampolines offer a safer, more stylish alternative to the traditional above-ground trampolines. They make for the perfect exercise for energetic kids (and parents!). Whether it's a quick after-school bounce or an all-day play session on the weekend, in-ground trampolines keep kids moving and burning energy while further building their motor skills and sense of joy. No climbing or wobbling is involved. Just easy, everyday access to outdoor fun.

Benefits of In-Ground Trampolines vs. Traditional Trampolines
In-ground trampolines offer several benefits over their traditional, above-ground counterparts. The first set of benefits is related to safety. Because the base of the trampoline sits flush with the ground, it means there is a lower fall height for kids and adults alike. So, if you happen to slip off for any reason, you’ll already be at ground level and far less likely to be injured.
It also means there’s no need for ladders to get onto the trampoline, and environmental factors that could be risky for traditional trampolines (such as intense winds) should have minimal impact on an in-ground trampoline.
By being flush with the ground, these trampolines are also just easier for everyone to access when they want. In-ground trampolines also take up less space and, once installed, require less ongoing maintenance.
On the aesthetic front, in-ground trampolines blend in better with your yard. They create less visual clutter, especially if you choose not to use the netting around the trampoline. It’s a cleaner overall design that allows other parts of your yard (such as feature gardens or water features) to stand out more.
Safe and Durable Trampolines for All Ages
In-ground trampolines are not only safer, thanks to their ease of access and no need for climbing, but they also tend to be more durable in the long term. Again, as they’re flush with the ground, they’ll experience less wear and tear from strong winds that would otherwise cause traditional above-ground trampolines to wobble and shift around.
There are also fewer parts to manage. There are no ladders and there’s no specific need to install a safety net that would involve the use of poles. The fewer parts there are, the lower the likelihood of anything breaking or damaging. And because in-ground trampolines are secured within the earth, they stay put. This also means less maintenance in terms of having to store the trampoline away when not used - it can simply stay where it is.
How to Install an In-Ground Trampoline in Your Backyard
The most time-consuming part of preparing for an in-ground trampoline is digging the hole it will be placed in. So, prior to installation, you’ll need to set aside a bit of time (likely a couple of hours) to dig the hole.
First, you’ll want to put clear measurements along the ground that match the length of 356cm and width of 244cm. To account for the framing around the trampoline (where the springs are covered and secured), you’ll need to dig 21cm down and 21cm in from the perimeter. For the central part of the trampoline (where the trampoline will sink into the earth), you’ll want to dig down to at least 90cm.
These are just general measurements to keep in mind. When you purchase the trampoline, it will include comprehensive instructions for how to properly dig the hole required to fit the trampoline. As long as you follow these instructions, you should find installation to be relatively simple overall.
Don’t forget that proper soil drainage is important, too. With the right drainage in place, it’ll help protect your trampoline from any water damage when rains occur.
The Perfect Size and Style for Your Outdoor Space
At Plum Play, we know that optimising your outdoor space is important, which is why our in-ground trampoline has been designed to work in most yards. With a footprint of only 366cm by 244cm, the in-ground trampoline can fit in most yards, even relatively compact ones.
We do recommend having a safety perimeter of 2 metres around the trampoline, but you can assess what safety perimeter would work best for your area. If needed, you can always make use of the enclosure net as well for a clearer barrier between the trampoline and the rest of the yard.
